The Wildcats came up just short Monday night at home against Bethel, losing by one. With 7 seconds remaining in the game St. Kate's was forced to foul Bethel's Taylor Sheley, who knocked down both free throws to put the Royals up by three. A last second layup by
Megan Zillmer brought the Wildcats within one, but with 1.8 seconds left, it was too little, too late.
The Wildcats were led by
Sonja Ellingson and
Laura Kalbfell who both scored 15 points in addition to 5 and 7 rebounds, respectively.
Andrea Gould added three blocks.
The loss takes St. Kate's to 3-5 on the season (2-3 MIAC) and Bethel to 3-4 on the season.
The Wildcats play again on Wednesday, January 5 in St. Peter, MN at Gustavus Adolphus College.
