Hockey falls in a nail-biter 3-2 to St. Olaf

Bridget Braastad
The Wildcats attempted to rally from 2 down late in the third only to fall one short, losing to St. Olaf 3-2 at Ridder Arena.  The loss moves St. Kate's to 4-2-1 in the conference.

After a scoreless first period that was a back and forth battle, the Olies scored first at 1:32 in the 2nd period on an unassisted goal from near the blue line.  St. Kate's tied the game on a power play goal at 13:20 from Bridget Braastad, assisted by Meghan Lange.  St. Olaf finished off the period with a late goal with less than 2 minutes on the clock to end the second up 2-1.

The score would remain 2-1 until 14:13 in the 3rd period when the Olies added the eventual game winner.  St. Kate's would score at 18:02 with 6 attackers and an empty net, but it wasn't enough.

The Wildcats take the ice again tomorrow at St. Olaf at 7:30 pm.
