St. Olaf defeats St. Kate's in volleyball

The #13 ranked St. Olaf Ole's defeated the Wildcats on Wednesday evening in conference volleyball action, by a final score of 3-1.  While the Wildcats played hard against the nationally ranked Ole's, they were unable to come away with a win and fell to 3-14 overall (1-3 MIAC).  St. Olaf improved to 13-3 (4-0 MIAC).

The first two sets were closely contested, with each team earning a win.  St. Olaf took the first set 25-23 and St. Kate's came back to win the second 25-21.  As the match wound on, the Ole's stepped up their game to ensure that the Wildcats would not be able to push them to a fifth set, as in the earlier season match-up between these two teams.  St. Olaf closed out the win 25-12 and 25-15.

Brittni Wangerin led the team with 13 kills and also had 19 digs and one ace.  Nina Lindquist had 32 set assists and one ace and Nicole Neumann added 33 digs.   Callie Teigen had double digits in kills and digs, compiling 11 of each.

The Wildcats head to Iowa this weekend for the Border Battle, hosted by Loras College.
