The St. Kate's softball team dropped two games to Chapman University Saturday afternoon, falling 0-8 in the first game, 1-4 in the second game. It was only the second and third games of the season for the Wildcats, and the first two of a ten-game road trip in California.
St. Kate's fell behind early in game one and were not able to find an offensive spark to rally a comeback.
In game two the Wildcats played better offensively and defensively, but again fell behind early. St. Kate's began a rally in the 6th inning when Katie Allen singled down the left field line to bring home Ashley Matthys. But the comeback attempt fell short and the Wildcats lost 1-4.
St. Kate's finishes their California road trip on April 1st and return home to start conference play on April 6th, hosting Augsburg College.
