Wildcat Volleyball Wins Against Macalester

The Wildcats finished off the regular season in style on Saturday, defeating Macalester in straight sets to remain unbeaten on their home court this season.  The Wildcats finished the regular season with a record of 6-5 in the MIAC, and 9-19 overall, qualifying them for the MIAC playoffs.  Macalester finishes their season at 3-8 in MIAC play, 13-16 overall. 

The Wildcat front line was on their A game Saturday, with three Wildcats recording hitting percentages of .450 or better.  Kayla Sis hit .538 with eight kills and Megan Ahlbrecht also had eight kills while hitting .500.  Brittni Wangerin hit .450 with 11 kills, one ace, and 13 digs.  Defensively, Nicole Neumann collected 14 digs and provided some offense of her own with four aces. 

Saturday marked the final home game for the Wildcats' three seniors, Ahlbrecht, Neumann, and Racquel Reker.  The trio will have at least one more chance to take the court for St. Kate's, in the MIAC first round of playoffs.  As the #6 seed, St. Kate's travels to #3 Concordia on Tuesday November 2nd for a 7 pm match-up.
