The MIAC office announced that St. Catherine University senior middle blocker Maria Hoffman has been named MIAC Co-Hitter of the week for her outstanding play. Hoffman helped lead the Wildcats to a perfect 5-0 record on the week.

During the week, Hoffman played exceptionally well in the front and back row. She also collected her 1,000 career kill last week. All told, Hoffman tallied 61 kills with only four errors and a .509 hitting percentage in her 16 sets last week. She also added 43 digs, six total blocks, and six aces.

With a MIAC-opening win at Carleton on Wednesday and four wins at the Saint Benedict Holiday Inn-vitational over the weekend St. Catherine is now 11-5 and off to the program's best start in 10 years. The host two MIAC contests this week, Wednesday against Concordia-Moorhead at 7pm and Saturday they face St. Olaf College at 2pm in a match up that will include Hoffman's co-hitter of the week recipient Kim Smisek.
