Kayla Bergerson has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week after helping the Wildcats pick up their first two MIAC wins of the season.
The Wildcats went 2-2 against Carleton and St. Ben's last week. Bergerson was the winning pitcher in both games.
Along with her pitching, Bergerson hit .363 in those four games, going 4-for-11 with one RBI.
Against St. Ben's Kayla combined both of those elements of her game perfectly. She drove in the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh, which also made her the winning pitcher on the afternoon.
Bergerson, who leads St. Kate's in strikeouts, wins, saves and ERA is also hitting .320 on the season.
