Sami Larson has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week after starting the outdoor track and field season undefeated in the shot put.

To start the season Larson won the shot put with a new personal best mark of 12.28 m (40-3.5 ft) while on the team's spring break trip. She followed that up with another improvement. Her mark of 12.36 (40-6.75) placed her first at the Falcon Invitational this past weekend.  With her performances Larson is currently ranked third in the MIAC in the shot put.

Along with winning the shot put, Larson also turned in strong performances in the javelin throw and the hammer throw at the Falcon invitational. She finished second in the javelin throw and second in the hammer throw.  Both performances place her in the top eight in the MIAC in those events as well.
