Cassie has been named MIAC Athlete of the Week after scoring four points in the Wildcats weekend series split with St. Olaf.
On Sunday, Rooney had a hand in all three Wildcat goals. She scored the first two goals of the game, one in the first period and one in the second period, as SCU jumped out to a 2-0 lead. After St. Olaf rallied to tie the game, Rooney assisted on the game winning goal mid-way through the third period to give the Wildcats a critical win. The victory moved St. Kate's into sole possession of second place in the MIAC, one point behind league leader St. Thomas.
Rooney, who also had an assist on Saturday, now has five goals and eight assists on the season.
