Michaela Michaelson has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week after helping the St. Kate's hockey team go 2-0 over the weekend and improve to 9-1 on the season.

In the first game of the weekend against Finlandia, Michaelson had one goal and one assist. That goal proved to be the game winner as the Wildcats went on to win 5-1. She then came back to score the teams first two goals, and another game winner, in the Wildcats 3-0 win on Saturday.

With those two game winning goals, Michaelson is now tied for first in the MIAC with three game winning goals this season. She is also the leading point scorer in the MIAC with 17 points (11 goals, 6 assists) in ten games this season. Her 11 goals are first in the league and her six assists are third in the conference.

The Wldcats face their toughest test so far this season when they return to the ice on January 9th to host #7 ranked UW-River Falls at Ridder Arena starting at 7:30 pm.
