The St. Catherine University Wildcat Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (WSAAC) participated in the 2023 Special Olympics Polar Plunge on March 4 by the direction of senior Kaitlyn Blair. Blair, who serves as the President for WSAAC worked with Unified Katies (a Special Olympics Club at St. Kate’s) President, Katherine Lew to coordinate and organize an overwhelmingly large group of St. Kate’s students raising a total of $10,383, the second most money raised from a university or college group in the state. The Wildcat soccer, cross country/track & field, hockey, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and dance teams each had representation at the annual event that raises funds to go towards programming and events for more than 8,000 unified athletes statewide. This is the second consecutive year that Blair has organized the event totaling over $20,000 to be donated to Special Olympics Minnesota.
