Greta Sieve has been named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week after setting a St. Kate's school record in the 5000 meter run at the Hamline Invitational. Sieve's time of 17:49.89 was seven seconds faster than former MIAC champion, and 2004 St. Kate's Hall of Fame inductee, Katie Jorgenson's record which had stood since 1999.

This was only the third time that Sieve has raced the 5000 meter distance on the track at St. Kate’s, and it was an astounding 55 second improvement over her best time from last season.

Only a junior at St. Kate’s, Sieve now owns three individual school records and has been a part of two record setting relay teams during her career.

Greta is the daughter of Jeffrey and Susan Sieve of New Ulm, and is majoring in occupational therapy at St. Kate’s.
