Alyssa Wicks | Jr., Softball, Scholarship
Softball student-athlete, Alyssa Wicks was admitted into a summer program at Syracuse which was a scheduled to be a 10 week REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The 10 week long program includes roughly 40 hours of research a week with one of a chemistry professor at Syracuse. Wicks would have been doing a computational chemistry project focused on examining energy differences in different chemical conformations and the effects of replacing functional groups on a molecule’s vibrations. The program has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is Wicks first Fleur-de-lis Award.
