Sophomore Michaela Michaelson has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week after helping the Wildcats go 1-0-1 against Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA this past weekend.

Michaelson scored all four of St. Kate's goals during the weekend series. In Friday's 3-2 OT win, Michaela put constant pressure on the Chatham defense firing 11 shots and scoring three goals.  She completed her hat-trick by scoring the game winning goal 25 seconds into the extra period.

In Saturday's 1-1 tie, Michaelson scored an unassisted goal at the 1:02 mark of the second period. That goal was her seventh goal in seven games this season, and put her first in the MIAC in overall goals scored.

Coach Marshall noted that "Michaela is a natural goal scorer who keeps improving each week. Hopefully she can stay healthy and give us the same effort when we continue conference play in two weeks."
