Sophomore Amelia Baxley made a significant impact to St. Catherine’s 3rd place finish at the Division II and III Rochester Invitational December 6-8th. The Division I transfer set her first individual program record in the 100-yard backstroke which happens to be one of the longest standing records left on the leaderboard. In total, Baxley broke the record from 2011 a total of three times during the meet finishing with the top time in the MIAC (57.81). Her finish earned her a third-place finish and a NCAA Division III top-50 ranking. Baxley was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that placed 2nd overall setting a new program record for the top time in the MIAC, plus the 14th best time in Division III. In the 400-yard medley relay, Baxley helped the Wildcats to a first-place finish, again earning the top-time in the MIAC and 10th in Division III. Lastly, Baxley was part of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that finishing in 2nd place, resetting the program record and clinching the top time in the MIAC and 13th best time in Division III. This is Baxley’s second Fleur-de-lis Award of the season.
