Track and field athlete Kayla Engel has been named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Ole Open last week.

Competing in the 800 meter run for the first time in her college career, Engel set a new St. Kate's indoor school record and finished third overall with a time of 2:21.86.

This is the third time that the sophomore nursing major has put her name on the St. Kate's record board. She has also been part of the fastest 4 x 400 Meter Relay and the Distance Medley Relay teams in school history.

She is the daughter of David and Stacia Engel.
