Laura Kalbfell has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week after averaging 22.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game last week. Kalbfell's efforts helped the Wildcats win all three of their games last week. The three wins improved St. Kate's overall record to 8-3 on the season.

Kalbfell scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers, as St. Kate's defeated St. Thomas 78-72 to start the week. Kalbfell also had seven rebounds (four offensive) and one steal as the Wildcats defeated the Tommies for the first time since 2003.

Two nights later Laura again led the Wildcats in scoring as she had 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting against Carleton College. The 64-61 win moved the Wildcats one game ahead of the Knights in the MIAC standings as both teams entered the game with 3-3 conference records.

Kalbfell ended her week by going 11-for-14 from the field against St. Mary's. Her 28 points in 29 minutes helped the Wildcats overcome an early ten point deficit and secure the 74-58 win. Her eight rebounds were also a team high against St. Mary's.

Laura is a Spanish Education major at St. Kate's.
