Michelle Perri (Cross Country/Track and Field): Perri earned Fleur-de-lis honors for the first time this year for her outstanding accomplishments in academics. Perri was one of three senior student-athletes who presented their Senior Honors Projects on Friday, March 9. Her presentation was titled “Playing through the pain” and focused on care and prevention of play-related pain in flutists. Perri is a senior exercise and sport science major who has maintained a GPA of at least 3.89 during her four-year career at St. Kate’s.

Kylie Macziewski (Softball): Macziewski is the first softball player to earn Fleur-de-lis honors for athletic performance thanks to her outstanding weekend at the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Arizona March 2-4. Macziewski was named to the All-Tournament Team after going 10-19 at the plate and reaching base in 14 of her 21 plate appearances. The senior shortstop tallied two doubles, two home runs and six singles to bring her weekend slugging percentage to .947 and, in the process, broke the school record for career home runs (18) and career runs (99). Macziewski is also a member of the softball leadership team.

Ellie Menso (Swimming & Diving): Menso is one of three swimmers honored with the Fleur-de-lis Award this week. Menso earns the first honor of her career thanks to her academic achievements, as she was one of three student-athletes to present research at the Seniors Honor Projects on Friday, March 9. As an education major, Menso focused on gender portrayals and stereotypes in popular children’s literature. The goal of her project was to provide critical analysis to aid individuals who select children’s books for various tasks and positions.

Katie Rising (Swimming & Diving): Rising earns her second consecutive Fleur-de-lis honor for her service to the Wildcat Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (WSAAC) and St. Kate’s Athletic Department as a whole. Rising was instrumental to the development of the Wildcats Mental Health Research Card (MHRC), which was presented to student-athletes at a meeting on Sunday, March 11. The card is meant to be used as a resource for student-athletes in regards to their own personal and/or a teammate’s mental health. Rising willingly volunteered her time to help with all facets of the cards production and provided the content and research found within its pages.

Mary Jane Voss (Swimming & Diving): Voss earns the second Fleur-de-lis honor of her career at St. Kate’s for her academic achievements and accomplishments outside of the pool. Voss was one of three senior student-athletes who presented research at the Senior Honors Project on March 9. Her research focused on effective nutrition practices for college students, both at St. Kate’s and in the nation. The goal of Voss’ research was to determine effective short term nutrition interventions and designs to help college aged students make smart food decisions and form good dietary habits. Voss will graduate in May with a degree in dietetics and a GPA over 3.89.
