Danica Cambrice (Basketball): Cambrice earns her second Fleur-de-lis honor of the year after a historic performance this past week. The sophomore averaged 24.5 points while shooting 70 percent from the floor in two games, garnering Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season. In the Wildcats 72-67 win over Macalester, Cambrice scored a career-high 30 points, putting her fifth all-time in single game scoring in program history. She also tied the school record for field goals made in a single game (13) and recorded her second double-double of the season thanks to a 14 rebound performance.  

Cambrice followed up her historic performance with another outstanding one in a loss to UW-River Falls on Saturday. Cambrice scored 19 points in 26 minutes of play to lead the team in scoring for the fifth time this year.  This season, Cambrice leads St. Kate's and is fourth in the MIAC in points per game (17.8) and ranks second in field goal percentage (.573). Her scoring average of 17.7 points versus MIAC opponents is second in the conference.

Franceska Hernandez-Nietling (Swimming & Diving): Hernandez-Nietling was nothing short of impressive in St. Kate’s Swimming and Diving team’s first half of the 2017-18 season, earning her the first Fleur-de-lis honor of her career with the Wildcats. The first has won either an individual or relay event in every meet St. Kate’s has competed in this season, and the dual meet against the College of Saint Benedict was no exception. Hernandez-Nietling scored two individual wins in the 200 breaststroke and 200 Individual Medley (IM) races on December 9 in dramatic fashion, as her time of 2:33.30 in the 200 breaststroke was not only a season best, but also bested Saint Ben's All-MIAC returner Ashley Groebner by three seconds. The first year also won the 200 IM with a time of 2:18.63 and finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a season best time of 1:10.11.
