Senior cross country runner Susie Hallquist has been named Wildcat Athlete of the Week for her strong performance last week. Hallquist was the number two runner for St. Kate's at the Blugold Invitational held in Colafax, WI. She finished the 6000m (3.72 miles) in a time of 24:59. Susie's time was a 32 second personal best for her, and makes her the tenth fastest 6k runner ever at St. Kate's.
Hallquist finished 58th in the team scoring, and 83rd overall, out of 244 runners in the race. She helped the Wildcats to finish 11th out of 16 teams in a field that included Division I, II and III teams.
Susie, who is also an All-Conference athlete on the Wildcats tennis team, is an English major. She plans to attend law school after graduating. She is the daughter of Steven and Gayla Hallquist.
