The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team had yet another impressive scoring weekend, winning both their Friday night dual against Macalester and Saturday’s dual against Concordia. Most impressive was the performance of junior diver Jenna Nagy, who won all four diving events she participated in this weekend. For her success, Nagy has been named this week’s Wildcat of the Week.
Nagy’s success started Friday night against Macalester. The reigning two-time MIAC Diver-of-the-Year won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives by impressive margins. Her score of 223.70 in the 1-meter was 32 points better than the runner up, and her score of 251.70 in the 3-meter was both a season best and 59.05 points better than the second place finisher.
Nagy’s success continued on Saturday, where she won the 1-meter event by 38.5 points and the 3-meter event by 46.25 points. Her scores in both events were NCAA Regional Zone qualifying scores. Nagy also competed in the 100 and 200 yard Backstroke. She placed 3rd and 4th respectively, without any prior training.
Nagy owns the top scores in the MIAC in both 11-dive scores for both the 1 and 3-meter boards this season. She and the Wildcats will return to the pool this Saturday for the Minnesota Challenge, which features swimmers and divers from all three divions. Â
