The St. Catherine University track and field team closed out the indoor portion of its schedule with its best finish in four years at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships placing 10th with 23.3 points. A huge part of the Wildcats' success is thanks to Brittany Moore (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) who set a school record for the second week in a row. For her outstanding contributions this week, she has been named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week for the second consectuive time.

On the opening day of competition Friday, Moore had a busy schedule and her work cut out for her in the 60-meter hurdles. The junior won her prelim heat with a time of 9.31 which was second to that only of teammate Shakeela Wells-Johnson (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) who tied Moore's record of 9.19 from a week prior. However, Moore was not to be outdone and saved her best for last clocking in at 9.16 in the finals to finish second and earn her first collegiate All-MIAC honors.

To conclude day two, Moore also finished 11th in the long jump with a mark of 4.86 meters (15-11.5) which narrowly missed qualifying for the finals. This was her first time competing in the event at the MIAC Championships.

On Saturday, Moore led off both of the Wildcats' top 10 performing relays. She helped the 4 x 200-meter squad clock the seventh-fastest time of the meet at 4:19.16. That time now ranks No. 4 all-time at St. Kate's. Then, she returned to end the meet for the Wildcats on the 4 x 400-meter relay that clocked a time of 4:14.28 that ties for No. 10 all-time at St. Kate's.

Moore and the rest of the Wildcats will take several weeks off of competition before beginning the outdoor season on Saturday, April 11 at Hamline University for a 10 a.m. meet.
