Despite coming up short in two close games this week against some of the top teams in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), the St. Catherine University basketball team couldn't have asked for much more from LaShay Holt (Minneapolis, Minn./Humboldt). For her two back-to-back outstanding performances, Holt has been named the Wildcat Athlete-of-the-Week for the second time this season.

Against the defending MIAC Champion Saint Mary's University Wednesday, Holt came to life in the second half of the 80-70 loss to give the Wildcats a chance at the upset in the final minutes. She finished the game just one-point off her career-high with 27 points and added 11 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season. She went 12-of-21 for the field shooting 57.1 percent and had a team-high four assists and game-high four steals.

Holt followed up Wednesday's performance with 19 points against Gustavus Adolphus College in an overtime thriller. Despite foul trouble early, Holt managed to finish the game 8-of-13 for a 61.5 percent shooting day. She had a team-high six rebounds, four steals and three assists to help the Wildcats on both sides of the ball. She finished the week averaging 23.0 points per game, shot 58.8 percent from the field and avaeraged 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4.0 steals per game.

This week, Holt surpassed 600 career points and is just off 350 career rebounds. So far this season, Holt has 178 rebounds which already ranks No. 6 all-time at St. Kate's in a single-season as she is on pace for one of the best rebounding seasons in school history. Holt is averaging 15.5 ppg which ranks fourth in the MIAC, while her 10.5 rpg are first. She also ranks in the top five for assists and steals per game.

Holt and the Wildcats are slated for back-to-back road games this week traveling first to Bethel University for a 7 p.m. contest Wednesday in Arden Hills, Minnesota, before heading north for a 3 p.m. game against the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday in St. Joseph, Minnesota.
