The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team hadn't competed in over five weeks with the holiday break and hoped its first weekend back would be a strong one at the Grinnell College Invite. Thanks to two first-place finishes from the reigning Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Diver-of-the-Year Jenna Nagy (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson), the WIldcats had an outstanding weekend finishing seventh in a tough field. For her performance, Nagy has been named the WIldcat Athlete of the Week. 

Nagy kicked off a strong Friday for the Wildcats with her best outing on the 1-meter board this season. The sophomore turned in a score of 406.25 that was good enough to help her qualify for the NCAA regional diving zones. She beat out Gustavus Adolphus College diver Heather Funai by 24.85 points to score huge points for the Wildcats with her win. 

After an impressive first day on the board, Nagy was solid again on day two of competition as she repeated as champion, this time on the 3-meter board. Her score of 402.80 narrowly missed the zone qualifying mark again put Funai in second place by 25.6 points. 

Nagy's scores this weekend were her best 11-dive scores all season. Her 1-meter and 3-meter scores are second in the MIAC for 11-dives this season. She and the remainder of the Wildcats will return to action this weekend as they host back-to-back home meets Friday night at 6 p.m. and Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
