The College of St. Catherine athletic department is pleased to announce that Jamie Wenzel has been named Wildcat athlete of the Week. Wenzel set two school records at the Hamline University meet, and earned the athlete of the week award for the second time this year. She was also given the award during the indoor track and field season when she set two school records at the Ole Open. 

At the meet on Sunday, Wenzel ran her best time of the season in the 200 to break the school record by .02.  She also become the new record holder in the 100 meter dash. Her time of 12.75 in the 100 placed her fifth overall, but first among Division III student-athletes. Wenzel then came back and ran a 26.55 in the 200. She was also the top Division III finisher in that event.

“Jamie continues to show why she is one of the top first-year athletes in the MIAC,” said Wildcat head coach Mike Henderson.

The Wildcat track and field team will return to competition on May 9 and 10 at the MIAC Championships hosted by Hamline University.
