Since the arrival of Head Coach Laura Brunik, the St. Catherine University dance team has shown great development of talent and has progressed to be one of the top competitive college dance programs in the region. The hard work and dedication of each dancer has led to great success again early in the season with the Wildcats taking fourth at the UW-Eau Claire competition Saturday. Though each individual has worked hard this season to lead to team success, sophomore rookie Madeline Boser (Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice) has stood out among the rest. For her efforts, she has been named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week.Â
As a rookie, Boser has worked to improve her skills all season in order to help the team turn out top performances at competitions. "Each individual (on the team) brings different qualities to the table," said Brunik. "Boser, however, has been working really hard to learn the qualities to improve technically, and she has kept a positive attitude."Â
That positive attitude helped her be one of the top performers for the weekend who Brunik could look to as an example for the team and its future progression this season. "Boser really stood out to us this weekend when we went to critique our videos," said Brunik. "We went over positions for the team to hit. Each time we paused our video, Boser was an individual we wanted to show off as a positive example."Â
Boser and the rest of the Wildcat dancers will take a week off of competition for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to compete Sunday, Dec. 7, at the University of St. Thomas Tommie Invitational in St. Paul.Â
