There is no doubt that Victoria Bravo (Tucson, Ariz.) has had a spectacular career thus far with the St. Catherine University tennis team. And this last weekend, she proved to be among the best players in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) with her come-from-behind skills in doubles play and an impressive win at singles against St. Olaf College to remain undefeated in her conference career. For her performance, she has been named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week.

The Wildcats' victory wasn't an easy one as they had to battle for the 2-1 win in doubles before picking up a 6-3 victory Friday evening at the Unviersity of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center. Bravo and partner Kylie Ketcho (Edina, Minn.) clinched teh doubles advantage after coming back against Alisa Hall and Maya MacGibbon. The pair were down 6-3 and looked as if they might suffer their first MIAC loss of the season. But Bravo helped fuel winning four-straight games to comeback for the eventual 9-7 victory.

But Bravo wasn't done pulling off impressive victories. After the come-from-behind doubles win, Bravo found herself down to Hall at the No. 1 singles position by a game through most of the first set. The senior finally broke Hall and forced a tie-breaker – which she took 7-1 – for the 7-6 win in set win. She then went on to take the second set 6-3 to remain a perfect 4-0 at the top singles spot in conference play this season.

With the doubles win, Bravo remains 6-0 this season and 5-0 against MIAC opponents. In her two-year career with the Wildcats, Bravo has lost just once in MIAC regular season matches for an impressive 14-1 record. Her singles record is even more impressive as she has won 14 conference matches – all in straight sets – and is a perfect 15-0 against MIAC players. Her only losses at the No. 1 singles spot came last season against top nationally-ranked players.

Bravo and the rest of the Wildcats return to the court Friday evening for a MIAC matchup against Saint Mary's University. Start time is set for 7 p.m. at Baseline. The Wildcats will then head south for three matches in Texas during spring break, March 24-26.
