In her rookie season with the St. Catherine University swimming and diving team, Jenna Nagy (Hutchinson, Minn.) has gone under te radar as most of the 2013-14 season was highlighted by spectacular swims in the water from other athletes. But at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships this weekend, Nagy was front and center when she was named the MIAC Diver-of-the-Year. For her remarkable weekend, Nagy has been named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week.

Nagy kicked off the meet with a huge performance on the 3-meter board when she qualified for the NCAA zones after scoring 427.65 in the semi-finals – a career-best for Nagy. The first-year then turned in a score of 418.70 in the finals to place third and earn All-MIAC honors in the finals session Friday evening.

But Nagy wasn't done, yet. On the final day of competition Saturday, Nagy found herself again competing for a medal spot in 1-meter diving. She headed into finals in fourth position, but her final round of dives was enough to lift her to a career-best score of 394.65 and a first-place spot on the podium. Nagy is the first Wildcat to earn the MIAC Diver-of-the-Year honor since Sarah Moody in 2011.

Nagy helped the Wildcats edge out Macaelster College by 49 points to finish in sixth place for the third-consecutive year at the MIAC Championships.
