The St. Catherine University golf team has been off to its best start in school history with three-consecutive program-best team performances in 2013. After posting a 347 last weekend, the Wildcats bested that mark with an impressive 319 on Saturday to finsih third at the Concordia Invitational in Detroit Lakes, Minn. And junior Whitney Nash turned in a career and program-best score to lead the Wildcats, therefore earning her Wildcat Athlete of the Week honors.

Prior to Satruday's tournament, Nash's previous best low round score was an 85 - a score she used to win the Bethel University Royal Match in May. The best individual program score heading into the tournament was an 81 shot by Nash's teammate Ellen Rager last fall at the Concordia Invite. Nash smashed that score with a 76 to finish fourth among all individuals at the tournament and post the lowest round score in the third year of Wildcat golf.

Nash's accomplishment is not only one for the record books, but she also owns bragging rights as one of the top Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) golfer for the entire weekend. Her score of 76 was matched only by two others - Sam Falk of Gustavus at the Augustana College Invitational and Grace Gilmore of Carleton at the Wartburg College Invitational. She was also the top MIAC golfer by three strokes in a talented field of 87 individuals. Nash helped the Wildcats finish just four strokes behind the College of Saint Benedict in first-place.

Nash and the rest of the Wildcat squad return to action Saturday at the Division III Midwest Classic at the Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn.
