After missing most of the first half of the season, Mary Neumann (Duluth, Minn.) has been one of the most consistent players for the St. Catherine University basketball team in the second-half of 2012-13. Despite losing two close games to Bethel University and Gustavus Adolphus College this week, Neumann had a career week and has earned Wildcat Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year.

Neumann opened the week just one rebound shy of double-digits against a tough Hamline squad, and then had a career-high performance in a tough four-point loss to Bethel on Wednesday where she scored a team-high 17 points. She also grabbed 13 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season and her career, and was 47.1 percent from the field against the Royals.

The sophomore was even better in an eight-point loss to one of the league's top teams on Saturday against Gustavus. Neumann was 4-of-6 from three-point range and shot 60 percent from the floor. She bested her career scoring mark from Wednesday night by scoring a game-high 22 points to lead the Wildcats.

In the week's three-game stretch, Neumann shot 50 percent from 3-point range, was 47.4 percent shooting, averaged 15 points per game and pulled in 9.3 rebounds per game. Her 49.2 percent from beyond the arc is the most in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) by nearly seven percent. She also ranks No. 7 in overall shooting percentage.

The Wildcats wrap up their season this week with two final MIAC games. Wednesday, the Wildcats travel to take on the league-leading Concordia College Cobbers in Moorhead, Minn., at 7:30 p.m., before returning home for a final game against the University of St. Thomas in the Butler Center at 3 p.m.
