Heading into its final competition before the Universal Dance Association (UDA) College Nationals next week, the Wildcat dance team needed several great performances in its final preperatory competition at the Spirit of America competition held at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., Saturday afternoon. They got just what they needed, especially from sophomore dancer Gabbi Lottie (Lexington, Minn.). For her performance, she has been named the Wildcat Athlete of the Week.
Lottie was the lone Wildcat to pull in a solo honor at this weekend's tough competition and she did it with style. Lottie earned a first-place finish in solo competition and then helped the Wildcats to a fifth-place trophy in hip hop and ninth place in jazz.
The Wildcats will head to Olrando, Fla., for the UDA College Nationals for their final competition of the season, Friday, Jan. 18.
