High School: Kalyse was a letter winner in both cross country and track and field at Red Lodge High School. She was named All-State twice in cross country and for the 4x400m relay and the 400m dash in track. She was also a member of the cross country team that placed second at State. At her high school, she was also a member of Key Club and the dance team.

Personal: Kalyse is a member of MPIRG at St. Kate's and also volunteers her time as a Cross Country coach at St. Paul Academy. Kalyse is a nursing major and has made the Dean's list. She the daughter of Jane and Wayne Engebretson.
