Biography
I'm proud to be a Wildcat because: of all the great relationships and connections I have made over the last three years.
What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at St. Catherine?: I enjoy being a around people who are passionate about similar things and making new connections.
2015-16: This will be Takunen's final season as a Wildcat.
2014-15: As a junior, Takkunen had a career-best swim in the 400 IM at the MIAC Championships. She also qualified for the 500 and 1650 Freestyle events.
2013-14: Takkunen had career-best swims in the 200 Backstroke and 400 IM. She also competed at the MIAC Championships in the 500 and 1650 Freestyle events as well as the 100 Breaststroke.
2012-13: In her first year as a Wildcat, Takkunen had career-best swims in the 50, 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 Freestyle as well as the 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke and 100 Butterfly. She also competed in the 200, 500 and 1650 Freestyle at the MIAC Championships.
High School: Takkunen earned four letters in swimming and also won the Coach's Choice Award. Outside of swimming, she was involved with her school's volunteer group and gradauted with high honors.
Personal: Takkunen is a social work major and dean's list student. She is also a member of the social work club. She is the daughter of Rob Takkunen, Stacey Yaekle.
