Michele Rutt

Rutt begins her second season as head coach with the St. Kate's golf program in 2015. In her first season with the Wildcats, Rutt led the Wildcats to a program-best sixth-place team finish at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championships. Two student-athletes also earned All-MIAC and All-Championship honors, while numerous school records were set.

Prior to coaching , Rutt had a successful playing career at the University of Minnesota where she helped the women's golf program become one of the top teams in the Big Ten. As a senior captain in 2011, Rutt led the Gophers to their first postseason appearance in 10 years where they placed third at the NCAA Central Regional. She and her Gopher teammates then placed 19th at the NCAA Championships – the best finish in program history at that point. Rutt also holds the 10th-best individual scoring record in Minnesota history.

Rutt is no stranger to college athletics as a postgraduate who most recently served as an academic mentor at the University of Oklahoma for a year. While at Oklahoma, Rutt earned her master's degree in adult and higher education with an emphasis on intercollegiate athletic administration.

Following her collegiate career, Rutt spent several years working in the business world after earning her bachelor's in business from the Carlson School of Management at Minnesota. As a student, Rutt was a Big Ten All-Academic award recipient, a National Golf Coaches' Association (NGCA) Academic All-American and Gophers' Gold Scholar Athlete.
