Former St. Catherine University golf standout, Kaitlyn Alvarez '18 enters her first season as an assistant golf coach for the Wildcats. Alvarez earned a Exercise and Sport Science degree from St. Kate's minoring in coaching and nutrition in Spring 2018.
Since graduating from St. Kate's, Alvarez served as an assistant for the Edina girls' golf team as well as Cretin-Derham Hall. She has has always been passionate about fitness and sports performance and has been the director of Brent Snyder Golf Performance since October of 2018. Through this experience she realized how much she loved helping people reach their fitness goals and in May of 2019, she started founded her own online coaching business, Foreward Fitness, LLC. In addition to coaching responsibilities with golf, she will also be the assistant strength and conditioning coach.Â
As a member of the Wildcat golf team, Alvarez earned Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) honors in each season. During her junior season, Alvaerez finished 10th overall to lead her team to the schools first-ever MIAC Championship, and earning an invitation to the NCAA Championship in May of 2017. As a senior, Alvarez was first on the team with a season average of 78.6, shooting her career low round of 72 at the Wartburg Fall Invitational.Â
The Eau Claire, Wis. native currently resides in St. Paul.Â
