Mike Henderson

The 2011-12 season will be Mike Henderson's sixth season as the head cross country and track & field coach at St. Catherine University.

In each of his five seasons, Henderson has guided both programs to new heights. The XC team has seen six of the ten fastest 6k times in school history, including the two fastest times ever recorded by a St. Kate's runner.  In 2009, Henderson coached the highest finisher in St. Kate's history at the NCAA XC Championships.

In track and field, the Wildcats have set an astounding 51 school records in five seasons. Henderson has also overseen nine NCAA qualifying marks, five MIAC Champions, and in 2010 guided the first St. Kate's runner to ever earn NCAA All-America honors.

The list of track & field accomplishments during Henderson's tenure also includes 31 MIAC all-conference honors and countless St. Kate's Top Ten performances. Additionally, both the cross country and the track and field programs have earned all-academic honors each year that Henderson has been coaching.

Henderson came to St. Kate's after spending five seasons assisting at the University of Iowa.  During his time in Iowa Henderson worked with seven school record holders and made three trips to the Division 1 NCAA National Cross Country meet with the Hawkeyes.

Henderson graduated in 2001 with a degree in psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College.  He then went on to the University of Iowa where he received his master's degree in sport psychology. Mike also holds his USATF Level 1 certification. He lives in St. Paul.
