2018:Ā George
once again landed herself on the All-MIAC list.
The senior, third baseman hit .377 during the
regular season, which ranked second on the team. She led the team in many areas such as, slugging percentage (.670), on base percentage (.496), doubles (13), and home runs (6). With another impressive season as a Wildcat, George broke a few of her own school records of single season walks (27) and recorded her 100th career h
it. George also tallied Second Team All-Region Honors from the NFCA. The impressive infielder is a hard worker in the classroom as well as earning a 3.740 GPA putting herself on the Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete Honors.Ā Ā
2017:Ā George had a breakout season for the Wildcats in 2017, as she became the first player in program history to earn First Team All-America honors in addition to being named the MIAC Player-of-the-Year and First Team All-Region. The sophomore third baseman led both St. Kate'sĀ and the MIAC in almost every offensive category, including, but not limited to, slugging percentage (.851), on base percentage RBI (50), and home runs (10). George also ranked second in the MIAC in overall batting average (.465) at the end of the regular season and was just as good, if not better, against conference opponents. George was a force to be reckoned with in MIAC play, as she led the conference in slugging percentage (.891), total bases (57), home runs (7) and RBI (33) versus fellow MIAC teams. Thanks to her performance, George was one of the top-25 players in Division III, making her a finalist for the NFCA Division III Player-of-the-Year award. George also made the MIAC All-Tournament team, was named the conference Athlete-of-the-Week three times, and broke St. Kate's school record for single season slugging percentage (.851), RBI (50), and walks (24) and tied the school record for single season home runs (10).
2016:Ā George made 24 appearances in her first season at St. Kate's with 11 starts. She hit .130 with five hits in 26 plate appearances. George hit the first home run of her collegiate career in the Wildcats win over Salve Regina. Ā
High School: At Ellsworth, George was a two-year team captain for softball and three times earned all-conference. She was also twice named all-area and was an all-district and all-state honoree as a senior. Outside of athletics, George was president of FFA and was a team manager and member of E-club.
Personal: George is an exercise and sport science, daughter of Shayne and Joy Lynn George.
