ST. PETER, Minn. -- The St. Catherine University basketball team dropped a MIAC matchup at Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday afternoon 87-55. The loss puts St. Kate's at 11-12 with an MIAC record of 6-10.
The Wildcats built an early lead, jumping out 22-14 after the first quarter behind a balanced start on both ends. St. Kate's was efficient early going 9 for 19 in the opening ten minutes including early threes from
Hattie Fox and
Elle Covey.Â
Gustvus flipped the game in the middle quarters, outscoring the Wildcats 21-11 in the second and 29-15 in the third to take control, then closing with a 23-7 fourth quarter.Â
Jordyn Peed led St. Kate's with 14 points,
Lily Peper added 13 points with three triples, and Covey posted 9 points and a team-high ten rebounds.Â
The Wildcats return to
Butler Center on Wednesday, February 18 at 7 pm. They close out the season at Bethel University on Saturday, February 21.Â
