MORRIS, Minn. — The St. Catherine University basketball team stays unbeaten after a 84-76 road win over Minnesota Morris Friday evening at Jim Gremmels Court. St. Kate's starts the season 3-0 in the hands of junior
Hattie Fox and sophomore
Jordyn Peed.
Fox recorded a career-high 27 points shooting 100 percent from the charity line on top of nine boards. Peed also had career points knocking down 25 with six rebounds and four assists as fellow sophomore
Kate Flicek collected eight rebounds scoring seven points.
Minnesota Morris came out sharp, knocking down early threes and forcing turnovers to build a 20–11 lead after the first 10 minutes. The Wildcats shot just 4-for-17 in the opening frame but stayed within reach thanks to second-chance points and defensive pressure. Back-to-back baskets from Peed and a transition three from
Lily Peper sparked an 8–0 run that erased the deficit. The teams traded buckets the rest of the half, with Morris edging ahead late to take a 38–34 advantage into the locker room.
With just seconds left in the quarter, Fox drilled a deep three to beat the horn, giving St. Catherine its first multiple-possession lead at 61–58. Minnesota Morris briefly tied the score early in the fourth, but the Wildcats answered with a 12–3 run fueled by defensive stops and transition finishes. Peper connected again from long range, Peed scored through contact, and the Wildcats controlled tempo the rest of the way.
The Wildcats are on the road again Saturday as they travel to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota at 7 pm.
