ST. PAUL - St. Catherine soccer fell to the Tommies from the University of St. Thomas in a one goal game on Saturday afternoon and breaking their three game win streak. The Wildcats are now 6-3-2 on the season and 4-2-2 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
Just five minutes into the game, the Tommies got on the board with a goal from Mallory DeBoom battling sophomore defender Dana Lehtienen (Maple Grove, Minn.) and getting past St. Kate's junior goaltender
Tayler Koop (Blaine, Minn.) for the game winner.
In the first 45 minutes the Wildcats picked up four shots, all on goal to the Tommies six shots and two on goal.
After the break, the Wildcats and Tommies both collected three shots with the Wildcats directing two of theirs on goal.
St. Kate's is home Tuesday in a 4 p.m. non-conference game against NAIA member Viterbo. The Wildcats return to conference play on Saturday, October 20 against MIAC rival, Gustavus Adolphus.
