Cross country places 5th at Seven Sisters Championship

The Wildcat cross country team headed to the East Coast this weekend to run in the Seven Sisters Championships, hosted in Philadelphia, PA by Bryn Mawr College.  In their first time running at the Seven Sisters, the Wildcats posted a 5th place finish, just four points out of 4th place.

The Seven Sisters is a historical meeting of the women's colleges from the East Coast and the Wildcats made their inagural appearance in the event in 2011.  The meet was won by Vassar with 33 points, with Wellesley the runner up at 59 points.  Swarthmore was third with 86, Smith fourth with 115 and the Wildcats fifth with 123.  Host Bryn Mawr was sixth with 140 points and Mount Holyoke was seventh with 158.

Kristina Poss finished in the top-15, running a personal best over the 5k course, despite muddy conditions.  Aside from the mud, it was a beautiful day to run, and several Wildcats hit new personal bests.  Poss clocked in a 20:13, right ahead of Jessica Rogers in 15th (20:19).  Kelsey Eder took two minutes off her PR, running 22:11.

The Wildcats also joined the other schools for a banquet after the race, as well as taking in the sights in Philadelphia.
