MIAC Swimmer of the Year Jordyn Wentzel finished the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship as a four-time All-American plus earned All-American Honorable Mention following a stunning debut on the national stage. The rookie swimmer was a national runner-up in both the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke resetting program records in both events with lifetime best finishes. In total, Wentzel swam six lifetime best times at the championship and reset five program records. The standout swimmer additionally reset five MIAC records; four individual and one relay, appearing in seven events total. Wentzel’s other individual appearance was in the 200-yard individual medley where she finished with a lifetime best time and program record in 4th place. Wentzel swam lifetime best times in the 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual medley, and in the 100-yard butterfly with her split. She was also a member of all four relay teams finishing 6th in the 400-yard freestyle relay, 12th in the 800-yard freestyle relay, 17th in the 400-yard medley relay, and 25th in the 200-yard medley relay.
