For the third meet in a row, the St. Catherine University track and field team turned in another handful of top 10 program performances and more school records came crashing down at the Hamline University Twlight Meet. Shakeela Wells-Johnson (St. Paul, Minn./Harding) recorded her third record performance, while the javelin record was broken for the second meet in a row – this time by Alyssa Besch (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) – to highlight a solid day for the Wildcats Wednesday afternoon in St. Paul.

Wells-Johnson has been nothing but spectacular for the Wildcats this outdoor season and she didn't disappoint Wednesday as she claimed a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a new record finish of 15.22. Her time was over half-a-second faster than her previous best and better the old record time of 15.49 set by Chi Chi Obi in 2008.This was also the first time the sophomore competed in the event this outdoor season.

In just her third career meet appearance, Besch has proven to be one of the top javelin throwers in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). The junior won the event with a mark of 35.95 meters (117-11) which bests the mark of 35.44 meters (116-3) set by Megan Pohlmann (Grey Eagle, Minn./Long Prairie-Grey Eagle) Saturday.

Dani Breault (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) also had a personal record (PR) performance in the javelin as she finished second in the event behind Besch with a mark of 32.67 meters (107-02). Her mark is now No. 9 all-time at St. Kate's.

Brittany Moore (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) had a top 10 mark in her outdoor debut in the long jump with a mark of 4.85 meters (15-11). The junior placed fourth in the event and her jump is now No. 8 all-time at St. Kate's.

Anna Macki (Becker, Minn./Monticello) earned herself a new spot in the St. Kate's top 10 in the pole vault with a new PR. Her mark of 2.46 meters (8-0.75) is now seventh-best all-time at St. Kate's.

The top distance performance of the day came from Mariah Stout (Bellevue, Idaho/Wood River) who earned a new top 10 time in the 10,000-meter run. The first-year clocked in at 41:27.30 in her collegiate debut in the event. The time is now No. 7 allt-time at St. Kate's.

Other notable performances came in the mid-distance and distance events. Emily Hohenshell (Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View) had a PR of 2:40.93 in the 800-meter run, while Michelle Perri (Plymouth, Minn./Osseo) and Natalie Barclay (South Barrington, Ill./Christian Liberty Academy) turned in personal-best times in the 1,500-meter run at 5:39.09 and 5:43.30, respectively. Rachel Hall also had a PR in the 5,000-meter run at 20:10.34.

The Wildcats are slated to return to action Saturday at the Macalester College Janis Rider Iniviational beginning at 9 a.m. in St. Paul.
