Courtney Kirkeide (Greenbush, Minn./Greenbush/Middle River), the Wildcats ended the season with a 23rd-place finish regionally Saturday morning at Central College in Pella, Iowa.
Kirkeide has led the Wildcats in nearly every meet this season and didn't disappoint Saturday as she raced to a 53rd-place finish with a time of 23:56.8. She now moves to No. 9 all-time at St. Kate's with her personal record (PR) finish.
First-year
Catherine Degen (Rochester, Minn./Lourdes) was the second Wildcat finisher for the first time in her rookie season. She clocked a time of 25:25.1, while sophomore
Ellie Cardinal (Burnsville, Minn./Eastview) was just behind her with a time of 25:27.6 as the third Wildcat finisher.
Less than two seconds later, junior
Shannon Strickland (Rochester, Minn./Lourdes) crossed the line in 25:29.4 as the fourth Wildcat finisher. First-year
Jackie Brine-Doyle (Merrifield, Minn./Pequot Lakes) rounded out the Wildcats' top-five finishers with a time of 25:34.5.
Coming in sixth for the Wildcats just a few seconds behind Brine-Doyle was
Bryana Waage (Valencia, Calif./Hart) who crossed the line in 25:39.7.
Michelle Perri (Plymouth, Minn./Osseo) was the final Wildcat competitor finishing the 6,000-meter course in 26::51.4.
