After a small portion of the St. Catherine University track and field team competed and had a solid showing at Hamline University Wednesday, the rest of the squad was looking forward to competing and contributing this weekend. With a larger contingent representing the team, the Wildcats were able to turn in solid performances all around with the throwers leading the way Saturday at the Concordia University, St. Paul Holst Invitational in St. Paul.

As she has done all season, senior Jorden Priebe (Indianola, Iowa) dominated the hammer throw with a first-place finish in the event. Her winning mark of 45.02 meters was good enough to take over the No. 2 spot all-time and is less than a meter from the school record mark of 45.83 meters. Ashton Clevenger (Fredericktown, Ohio) continued to be solid in the event as her PR mark of 39.67 meters was good enough for sixth in the event and moves her up to No. 8 all-time at St. Kate's. Christina Ramsdell (St. Cloud, Minn.) finished eighth, while Nicole Szyszka (Jordan, Minn.) had a PR mark to finish in the top-15.

The Wildcats also went 1-2-3 in the javelin with first-year Megan Pohlmann (Grey Eagle, Minn.) taking the top spot with a PR mark of 33.52 meters. She now takes over the No. 7 spot on the Wildcat top-10, while Abigail Palmer (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) was just off her PR at 30.88 meters to take second. Danielle Breault (Anoka, Minn.) had a PR of over eight meters to finish just outside the top-10 all-time at St. Kate's and third overall in the meet. Jerika Decker (Buffalo, Minn.) placed seventh, while Courtney Kirkeide (Greenbush, Minn.) placed 10th with another PR.

Shannon Strickland (Rochester, Minn.) was the third Wildcat to capture an event title on the day. Her time of 13:00.05 in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase was good enough for the win and now eanks No. 6 all-time at St. Kate's. In the other distance events, Kirkeide posted a PR mark in the 800-meter run, while Jenna McElroy (Champlin, Minn.) dropped nearly 20-seconds from her previous best for a PR in the 1,500-meter run.

In the pole vault, Laura Crepeau (Elk River, Minn.) and Anna Macki (Becker, Minn.) placed sixth and seventh, respectively. Creapeau used a mark of 2.45 meters to take over No. 6 all-time, while Macki cleared a height of 2.30 meters to place No. 8 all-time in her first collegiate appearance in the event. Other notable jumping marks included a second-place finish in the high jump from Sarah Manning (Page, Ariz.) and a third-place mark from Makayla Skluzacek (Le Sueur, Minn.).

The Wildcats return to action next week Wednesday at the St. Olaf College Manitou Classic scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Northfield, Minn.
