After taking a week off, the St. Catherine University track and field team returned in top form as it turned in five program top-10 performances – including another 60-meter school record time from Shakeela Wells-Johnson (St. Paul, Minn.) – and had multiple personal record (PR) outings at the Bethel Universtiy Gene Glader Classic Saturday afternoon in Arden Hills, Minn.

Wells-Johnson broke her own school record to win the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.90 – the fastest time by any runner in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season. In her college debut in the 200-meter dash, the first-year clocked in at 27.19 to place second. Her finish is now fourth all-time at St. Kate's in the event, while sophomore Brittany Moore (Maplewood, Minn.) just missed cracking the Wildcats' top-10 with her fifth-place PR time of 27.70.

Moore turned in a strong third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, while Ashleigh Ackley (Gilby, N.D.) had a huge PR with a sixth-place time of 10.40. Morgan Vlakancic (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) ran a PR time of 30.06 in the 200-meter dash to round out the sprint events for the Wildcats.

In the distance events, Kristina Poss (Shoreview, Minn.) stole the show with a PR time of 11:06.92 to win the 3,000-meter run. The senior competed for the first time this indoor season and her finishing time keeps her No. 7 all-time at St. Kate's in the event. Junior Jenna McElroy (Champlin, Minn.) wasn't far behind with her third-place PR time of 11:14.30 which now ranks No. 9 all-time at St. Kate's.

First-years Shannon Strickland (Rochester, Minn.) and Courtney Kirkeide (Greenbush, Minn.) had strong performances in their respective events with Strickland taking second in the 1,000-meter run, while Kirkeide had a PR of 11:30.05 to finish sixth in her collegiate debut in the 3,000-meter run.

In the field events, Laura Crepeau (Elk River, Minn.) made a strong debut in the pole vault as she placed seventh overall. She cleared a height of 2.55 meters to take over the No. 6 spot on the St. Kate's top-10 list for the event. Senior Jorden Priebe also used a toss of 11.76 meters in the weight throw to finish fourth in her first competition of the indoor season this year.

The Wildcats return to action next Saturday at the College of Saint Benedict Triangular. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn.
