The Wildcat softball team faced the top team in the conference in the visiting Gusties of Gustavus Adolphus on Tuesday afternoon.
The first game of the day did not start well for the home team after giving up a three run homerun in the top of the first. Fortunately, St. Kate's starting pitcher
Morgan Bohmbach settled in and had a solid outing the rest of the way, allowing just one run in the next five innings as the Wildcats attempted to battle back.
After six innings, St. Kate's trailed by one run with the score 3-4. Gustavus would soon put the game out of reach, plating two in the top of the seventh that went unanswered by the Wildcats, final score - 6-3 Gusties.
The second game had
Sarah McLennan on the pitching rubber. She and the Wildcats again put up a strong performance, but came up just short. McLennan would scatter three runs in her seven innings, while tallying three strikeouts. St. Kate's would only muster up a single run against the stout Gustavus defense, dropping the second game 1-3.
