Competing for the first time since their annual training trip, the St. Kate's swimming and diving team dominated the St. Mary's Quadrangular. The Wildcats won by over 200 points, and closed out the meet with a new pool record in the 800 Free Relay.

Melanie Maas,
Mary Walters and
Bridget Perkins combined to set the record. Their time of 8:32.14 was over five seconds better than the previous St. Mary's Pool Record.
Individually,
Laura Oberg-Hauser had a great meet for the Wildcats. She had season best times in both the 200 and 500 Free. She finished first in the 500 and third in the 200.
Sarah Moody also performed well for the Wildcats. She turned in a season best score in the 3-meter diving event with 193.85 points, which placed her second overall.
A satisfied Coach Hempler was pleased with her teams effort. She noted that "With the intensity of our training and the travel of late, we certainly weren't focusing on times today, but it was great to see them fight the entire meet. We are all looking forward to the final few tune-up meets before we head into the MIAC Championships."
The Wildcats return to their home pool next weekend. They host Concordia in a dual meet on Friday January 22 at 6pm. Then they host the St. Kate's invite on the 23rd.
