WINNECONNE, Wis. - The St. Catherine University cross country team returned to competition on Saturday at the Kollege Town Invitational at Lake Breeze Golf Course. The 6K race was hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with over 400 runners from 34 teams from around the region.
St. Catherine had eight PR finishes in the 6K race led by junior
Julia Clark. Clark's PR time of 24:10.7 landed her in 117th place as the first Wildcat to finish. Clark has finished first on the team in each race this season.Â
Sophomore
Anya Swanson finished in 155th with a 6K PR finish of 24:32.2 just one second ahead of rookie
Olivia Anderson with a PR time of 24:33.3 in 158th place.Â
Junior
Juliette Martin finished with a PR time of 25:36.3 in 228th shaving nearly a minute off her time from Roy Griak three weeks ago and two minutes from her Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Championship time last fall.Â
First-year Claire LaVigne finished with a PR time of 25:45.4 shaving ten seconds from her Roy Griak 6K finish coming in 241st. LaVigne's fellow first-year
Morgan Brandt had a PR finish as well coming in 273rd in 26:14.8.Â
Megan Perkins was seventh on the team with a time of 27:25 coming in 322nd. Sophomores
Emma Meyer and
Summer Schwintek were the final two Wildcats across the line both with PR times coming in at 28:12.4 and 32:11.8, respectively.Â
Up next for the Wildcats is the 2019 MIAC Cross Country Championships at Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. on November 2nd.Â
