Tennis Drops Close 5-4 Match To Southwestern

In their final match of a four-match Texas road trip, the Wildcat tennis team lost a close 5-4 effort to Southwestern University on Thursday afternoon. St. Kate's picked up doubles wins at the #1 and #3 spots, while winning #2 and #4 singles.

Bethany Gapinski teamed with Kalyn Schroeder for the close 9-8(3) win at #3 doubles. Gapinski also won a hard fought singles match, pulling a 7-6(3), 6-7(5), (10-4) win at #4 singles. In the previous three matches, Gapinski has won all three of her doubles and all three of her singles matches.

Martha Ginder and Michaela Burroughs recorded the other doubles win for St. Kate's, while Kasie Rust took the other singles win.  

The Wildcats play Carleton at the Lakeville Tennis Center on April 10th at 6:00 p.m. The following day they make the short trip to play at Macalester at 12:00 p.m.
